Leeds is my home city in the North of England in Yorkshire. The city was built on the wool and textiles trade and as a consequence, has many elegant buildings befitting a city of its stature. The Victorian architecture is particularly excellent and there are many great buildings worthy of the sketchbook. As an art student in the city, I came to know many of these buildings intimately, so it was nice to visit the city again and get out and about with pen in hand. County Arcade is one the many elegant shopping arcades in the city and the combination of red brick and honey coloured stone is a classic Leeds architectural look. I left the sketch loose and unfinished on periphery to highlight the centre of the drawing.
